The Artemis Standards

For 12 weeks, you will be training towards these goals:

Broad jump farther than your height
Perform at least one strict pull-up
Farmer carry 75% of your bodyweight for 50 meters
Run 800 meters in under 4 minutes

These are not arbitrary challenges.

They represent:

  • Explosive power

  • Upper-body strength

  • Grip, core, and load-bearing resilience

  • Cardiovascular capacity and speed

Together, they define a woman who is physically capable, not fragile.

Is Artemis for beginners?

You do NOT need to be an elite athlete, but I would expect that you have some experience with strength training and running.

What if I don’t hit all four standards?

The goal is pursuit, not perfection—but you may surprise yourself

Can I get help if I need it?

Yes, you can contact me and I will do my best to help you.

Can I do this if I haven't run in years?

Of course. The running element is designed to build you up over the 12 weeks.

What equipment do I need access to?

Ideally you will have access to the following:

  • A range of resistance bands to assist with pull ups

  • A range of dumbbells

  • A pull up bar

  • A trap bar

  • A cable machine

  • A squat rack

Can I train alongside this?

Unless this additional training is quite light in nature e.g. easy walking, cycling, yoga) I would suggest you don't do additional training.

Meet Your Instructor

My name is Martin Taylor, and I've been working as a personal trainer in the South of Scotland since 2016.

I love helping people to get stronger, to become more capable and to challenge what they see as their physical limits.....but I'm always looking for more.

As always the idea for Artemis started with a question:

How could I help women to save themselves

By setting the Artemis standards it brings everything into focus.

It means everything that does not directly help us achieve those target gets dropped.

It means no fluff.

For the person following the program it has a powerful effect; sessions are now important building blocks towards these standards; not an inconvenience that you sleepwalk through (or don't do at all).

Artemis is designed to make you more physically capable.

And Capability leads to Confidence

But I get it, you probably don't care about who I am or why I created this platform....right now all you care about is CAN I ACTUALLY HELP YOU!

Artemis has been 'field tested ' on myself and my female clients, and revised accordingly to give you the best possible chance of meeting the standards.

But as I will repeat, it does not matter if you hit the standards; what matters is you put as much effort as you can into each session; that you end the program with a higher all round standard physical fitness than when you started.
